Hello all!
I am new here and I have came here to ask what do you think about the risk of inhaling fibers from the EO-18 canisers. I personaly have GP-5 mask with untouched filter dated from 1975. A friend gave it to me in an unopened package with the filter sealed. And we both wore them for maybe more than a hour in total. Little did we know about the danger back then. Now I am worried, maybe a little paranoid.

You've likely increased your chance of contracting mesothelioma to some degree, but I also think it's quite unlikely you'll contract it from such short exposure. In any event, onset is usually several decades after the exposure which caused it.

If you're still concerned, I'd suggest talking to your doctor, who should be able to give you better information and advice.

Well, thanks for the answer. My doctor might be quite surprised from the question, considering in my country we have 15 cases of mesotheliom every year. Which mathematicaly makes the "chance" 500 000:1.
